My husband and I met working a construction job in Alaska. We did not want to stay at "Man Camp" and the local apartments were too expensive and mostly longterm housing, so we purchased an RV to live in for the summer while working. As most RV parks, they were made for tourists, visitors, & weekend warriors... i.e.; they didn't have to be at work for the 5:00AM foremans meeting. We are both retired now and have a nice, quiet piece of property with the homestead cabin & 3 acers of wooded land which boarders a creek. We kicked around opening RV spots on the property but hadn't put it into motion until I got a call from a former co-worker, now construction business owner. He asked if he bid on a project in Seward, where he could house his crew of 6 during the months of June & July. I laughed and said I would call him back. I immediately woke up my husband and said, "Get up! We're building a RV Camp"!
